As someone who could not get to go on their boat on probably the hottest weekend of the year in the UK, it would be nice to see what you folks got up to? Was it as hot on the coast as inland, and was it as windy? Did anyone take any pics - was it like a lake, or too windy to get out?

weather up here for the west coast this weekend was great today got the boat out after new water pump yesterday going great clear blue skys lil chop and breeze still warm, and damn it picked up the rope from a lobster pot damn person had a 60ft line on it with an underwater float so got wet cutting it off but all in all a good day

We took Friday off too. Good day out, went round to Aberdaron, bit of a stiff breeze but very hot. Went ashore for a pint and a bag of chips then back to Aberech beach for a late lunch. Saturday was too windy for us in Pwllheli and it rained for a bit in the evening. Cleaned the boat most of the day. Windy again on Sunday but at least the rag and stick boys had fun. Looks ok for next weekend so far, hope you make to your boat then.

Wasn't far away from you. I motored from Porthmadog to Abersoch on Saturday for the Jass Festival. Pitched up outside SCYC after a fairly brisk (brisk means my crockery would have broken but its Melamine) passage. Got the water taxi to the club and drank lager and listen to 3 hours of excellent Gypsy Jazz as played by a friend of mine and a couple of other peeps. They were magic!!!!!

After that I motored off to St Tudwals East and dropped the hook in the lee of the island and slept for an hour or so to let that nasty SW die down, and then motored home. A perfect day in great weather.

Had my first weekend out on Wahoo, with an instructor from RYA, was a force 3-4 with waves upto 1m (North channel Clyde) , was petrified up on the plane for the first time with the boat doing 25knots, at least the instructor had a big grin on his face, but overall a great weekend and came away with my powerboat lvl 2 certificate

Saturday was a nice day and quite warm in the marina but a bit misty in the Carrick roads, Sunday went downhill and by evening was throwing it down. Spent the w/e fitting a Lowrance chart plotter so at least I could see how far I didn't get this weekend. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I watched the wife wash the launch as I sat in the shade of a tree with my cold beer and got bitten three times by Horse Flies.

Sat in a German airport for 6 hours on Saturday while Ryan air sorted out a teachnical problem with a plane.

then went to the have a nice trip on the boat yestaerday only to find further problems with one of the friggin engines!!!!!

This boating lark is suppose to be fun init?

Took the boat out Saturday for a blast around the Clyde north channel - around the Cumbraes then into Largs for ice cream and beer. Weather was fantastic (apart from F4 SW's) creating some interesting foam. Sunday was cleaning day in the marina...roll on next weekend!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Jeez, Rinker sounds like another bummer of a day for you out of Largs. Were these pots just south of the approaches to Millport by any chance?? The same boat responsible for these was washing his pots out on the pontoon in Largs Haven up by the middle of the fairway to the day slip at low water. Not very funny when it's only about 4m wide at this tide and against the wind!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Too windy to get out (with comfort) so we stayed on board and enjoyed beautiful Malahide. The village is a lovely place with a big choice of restaurants a lovely park, castle and beach. Sometimes we forget what's on our own doorstep.
Took these pics in the past few weeks,

David and his beautiful Chris Craft giving friends of ours a blast around Malahide Estuary...

We are looking forward to later this week as the high develops to the South bringing more sunshine and slack wind.

Sounds great - very jealous! It did look a tad windy, and with the comments about the spring tides it sounded a fun weekend - shame no one had any photos, but nice to get a view of the conditions across the country.

Hopefully a little less wind this weekend...

Im a bit slow with the photos... so this is the weekend before last. Had a great few days in Fowey and Salcombe. (Thanks to all who gave me some tips on Fowey.)

Last weekend I had to go to London for a summer ball so couldnt get to the boat. Wont be going far this weekend coming as SWMBO has booked tickets to see Elton John! If its sunny and calm im not going to be happy....
