To do the evening club race at Christchurch on Wednesday next (11th)then sail straight on overnight ( 'cause I like sailing at night --no distractions!) at about 2000hrs. to end up at about -2hrs Hw off Treguir on the Friday evening (13th) so as to motor up the river and arrive at slack water..
( All times are BST of course)
Problem is where to go between these two times.

Thought breakfast at Ormanville could be good at around 07/0800 then through the race with the tide to L'Ecrehous... But it looks as though it will be almost Hw at the reefs when we get there so not much to see.. (and of course very weather dependant)
The idea was then anchoring on Nth Jersey coast after L'Ecrehou or even going NW to Dixcartes ( Sark)....
Had thought of bashing on to Ile de Brehat and anchoring there for the Thursday night but that's an arrival at around midnight to 0100 after the previous overnighter!
But anyway L'Ecrehous would be better at near Lw... (Damn)

Could go straight to St Peter Port but tides are wrong for the sill (or should it be cill) and we'd be hanging around on the waiting pontoon instead of sailing!!!

Reckon on leaving wherever, after a decent night's kip, fairly early on the Friday to make target time at Treguir..

Looked at all the books I could lay my hands on but cannot come up with an attractive plan with, of course, alternatives, for weather...

Oh yes! We're two up so we'll need a wee bit of rest.....

So we're looking at about 24 hours of passage from Thursday night, eight hrs or so of kip preferably at anchor, and another ten hrs or so of sailing... Do not want to sit on a pontoon and kill time if we can avoid it...

Any ideas welcomed....

If any of you are around we've got the whisky and gin....( and warm tonic!!)
and, even more revolting, I'll be making the mackerel shushi if catch the rascals..

Cheers Bob E... & and Stefan ( my minder!)

OK, Here's the plan:

Leave 20:30 11/7
11/7 HWDover 21:30 BST
Which will get you to the top of Ald race for about 1/2 hr before HWDover
12/7 HWDover 10:06 BST
to catch the flow down to St PP.
Anchor in Havelet Bay weather permitting to get some kip.

13/7 HW St PP 6:10 BST
Leave for Tréguier:
2 hours before HW St PP, (04:00)
West about Roches Douvres and use the flood up river to the port.
If late on the tide go SW to be uptide (4 knots at springs) to pass by basse crublent.
In Tréguier, try to get on the seaward side of the outside pontoon. At ½ tide the inside berths are very difficult to enter or leave.

Thanks Nigel, That certainly looks very reasonable....
I'd thought of Havelet Bay but felt I'd be there for a long time if I went direct from Christchurch... And the object is to sail the thing after all!!!
Anyway I'll check that one out...
BTW how on earth do you do accents on these keyboard things???
Thanks again and Cheers Bob E...

Thanks Nigel, You're a bloody genius...
Looks like I might just bash straight over to the Isle Brehat and moor there for the night then could amble over to Treguire on the Friday....
Might make a nice easy sail for a change..

Thanks again
Cheers Bob E...
