So proud!

Thanks
It has been a long journey over several years.
Sometimes I thought I was kidding myself.
But hopefully now we have a boat that the family will really enjoy in a place where we can get to it easily.

Hope you have great times with your family on the boat.My best memories are from my times on the boat with my then wife and later with my child too.

Congrats Stu.
We 'lived aboard' a Catalina 27 (Jaguar) in San Diego for about a year. When our US visa's expired, instead of selling it and flying home, we pointed her south and down the 'Baha' and into the Sea Of Cortez. The Cat/Jag 27 has to be one the very best sail boats I've ever had the pleasure to own or sail. They were sold in their thousands in the US, and for very good reason. Correctly rigged, especially the later models, they are a FANTASTICALLY versatile boat. They're also one the most forgiving boats I've sailed. All told, we covered about 6000nm in ours;-)))) Enjoy her Stu!

Great stuff!

Another one who has had a lot of great family time on the water... it really creates the opportunity for you to talk to one another, and spend some real quality time.. many happy memories!

See you out there on the marvellous east coast!

Indeed. I have wonderful memories of cramming five of us aboard a caprice 19. My sister claims claustrophobia from her berth/shelf and I had the cabin sole with feet in the engine compartment! Great times. The Jag is palatial by comparison.

People with small boats have the most fun.I enjoyed my previous and smaller boat a lot.I love my Fulmar but the feeling isn't the same.

that was great

lovely to be there with you - virtually of course

well shot too - and the camera is?

D

DogCam Bullet HD.
Don't let the rather random name put you off.
A lot smaller than the Go Pro.
I am enjoying the telescopic arm I got a little while ago as I get to be in some of the videos I make as opposed to always being behind the camera.
My only gripe is it can be hard to tell whether it is straight and level (tube "bullet" shaped cam). I might give it some rubber wings to site with.
I also want to try flying a kite to hoist the cam aloft and get some nice aerial shots. Lots on YouTube, such as this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJ0v7hshPTE

Just realised who you are!
I have been following your YouTube videos and your adventures with your new Westerly.
Love your easy talking useful musings!
Thanks for the compliment.

Stu.

Well done, it seemed a lovely trip and the video will be a perfect memory of your start with your new boat.It has made me think I should try getting some video of my boat. I will look out for you on the moorings and give you a wave when I pass as I am also a member at HNYC, but berth my Fulmar in Chatham Maritime Marina.

Hope your family get lots of good sailing in the years to come.
