I'm planning to see if she starts for a beginning, and if, having coated Southsea marina with a winters exhaust stack growth of rust, everything should still seem hunky-dory I plan to tow my weed and barnacle growth down to Yarmouth for a night, maybe two or maybe move to Newtown or maybe something completely different, before returning to Southampton for a lift out to have her little places seen to.

My berthing runs out then anyway, so a month on the hard is as good a place as any.

We're all antifouled up and ready and back on our mooring. On the off-chance it might be nice, I have filled up with LPG also. Cruise around the Llyn Peninsular would be nice.

Easter and good weather, hmmm....seldom found in the same sentance.

I'll take rain and be thankful if the temperature makes double figures and the winds don't blow.

Yup

Majorca, start of our second season, hope its a lot more straightforward than last year. Hope we get the same weather as your forecast.

For those that are confused by my enthusiam, yes I am still selling and coming home but what the hell, we are determined to enjoy ourselves while we are still there (who knows what might happen if we start to really enjoy it.....might even move to the mainland and rent a berth off Nat)

Whatever you are all doing have a great time.

Gosport to Weymouth for Easter has turned out to be a bit of a tradition for us. Lots of nice pubs and very lively in the evenings. There is a great junk shop there and last year we bought 5 free standing high pressure halogen commercial uplighters for £20 each. Turned out they had come from Orly Airport
They were a real bargain, work great in the office but was a bit of a squeeze getting them all in the forecabin!

semi-detached meddy

aha. i understand it all now. Meddy likes boating, and it doesn't really matter where. But he enjoys having the uper hand in our down-to earth and yorkshire (ie brutally rude) kind of way

e.g.

newbie {upon meeting meddy} Oh hello, what a lovely day we had on our boat in the med/lake windymere, and isn't it lovely here, don't you agree?

meddy: NO! I blimmin well don't what's more i'm planning to sell up and clear off a thousand miles away from here as soon as possible!!!! Possibly this year OR if not the next i'm not too sure.

see?

Of course my decision is right......errr whatever it is.

.......(Meddy continues, giving line by line rebuttal of TCM's argument thereby proving himself intellectually superior)

And.........oh Bugger I've just remembered I don't post on here anymore because Haydn's clicked or something.

So there.

Something like that yes - we have not been very "proactive" in selling.

To be honest I suppose there's still something inside me hoping that we have such a great time this year that we change our minds and buy bigger out there.

Its not that we are indecisive of course.

um i wd agree that a bit bigger might be a whole load more enjoyble. Bit like cars, a moderate heap WITH aircon is fine. It's either that or hanging about in a Bank to cool down, again.

Have fun. Hows the new boat now ?

To answer the question we will be arriving berth sat 6pm the evening will be spent planning our grueling trip to Ambleside over copious amounts of alchohol. (dutch courage for such a perilous voyage) We will awaken early morning in order to catch the first wake, around 9am caused by "Teal" (trip boat for the uninitiated) After a long and often tiresome trip full of worry and trepidation (the mrs sometimes takes the helm) we arrive at our chosen anchorage, only to find some bastard has got there first. "Oi shift it you git, thats our spot" we call in a typicaly maritime manner.
Ahh the joys of lake boating...........

Make the most of it, from next weekend you will be doing the same thing but MUCH slower.

We get back from Majorca on Easter Sunday and I am still trying to convince SWMBO to go to Windermere on Easter Monday for one last chance to see quick boats on there. Is anything special planned?

Of course in making the above statement I am assuming that all stinkies will be strictly observing the new speed limits from April. We wouldn't want any sort of mass disobedience like those dreadful fox hunters would we? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Well I hope the weather stays ok for you.
New boats great, have not used it as much as I liked much due to entrance being silted up & did not want to ding duo props., but every thing looks good for this trip
