So it has actually happened which has got me thinking what impact will it have on the following:
1. Red diesel prices here?
2. Ongoing attitude to red diesel when travelling abroad?
3. VAT issues if bringing a boat into the UK? And going the other way?
4. Will it mean less people keeping their boats in the med due to different legals or cost (exchange rate in the short term)?
5. Will the RCD become redundant?

This topic has been done to death here over the past few weeks - with no conclusion.

Who knows? As Gove said this morning, do not expect much to happen in the short term. The issues you raise will be low on the list of priorities, although the RCD is unlikely to change because it is not an EU exclusive requirement, but EEA so unlikely that will change at all.

YAWN. Re fuel price outlook. Unless you use your boat and clock up meaningful miles then the whole cost of fuel thing is a waste of time discussion, therefore most will not be effected

Diesel will have to be sold by the gallon again, say cheeerio to litres and kilos. When was the last time you went to the butchers and asked for half a pound of bacon..............and asked for a quarter of a kilo please. Chances are that eyebrows would have been raised. Fortunately beer has been by the pint and egg boxes survived metrication.

and definitely dont expect much to change with immigration, even after the divorce deal is done..... Surprise, Surprise!!

Once the Govt. has a source of tax it rarely gives it up ! They are no more likely to give up duty on red diesel than they are to give up that other EU tax VAT !
