Just had to mention the snow, how is everyone surviving out there in all this snow ?

Just a warning to those of you with full canvas camper type covers, the snow on mine was about 5 or 6" thick and was really pushing down on the canvas and windscreen. If you have these types of cover it would be worth a trip out to get the snow off !

Have been for a drive about today and took some pictures of Days lock from wittenham clumps. The river looked deserted everywhere.

I have just cut the grass on my front and back lawns and have been sun-bathing in the reclining deckchairs most of the afternoon. :p

It is going to really snow in southern England this Sunday 10 Jan 2010. Watch this space!

Great pictures, my boat is just out of shot in the top left corner.

My daughter was up there sledging this afternoon, had a great time, i was stuck at work :(

There were lots of people up there sledging and even some snow boarders. The best part was watching the cars trying to get the up hill and not making it.

Russ bought a GB47 through the other day ( 4th ) to go to St Kats and he said it took him an hour to get out of Shepperton marina !!

Getting through the ice in the cut was difficult too , just shunted the boat all over the place.

It's absolutley solid today , about 3 inches thick ....

wow, I bet you haven't seen it like that in a while, if at all. I'm glad we got bCk when we did, the ice in our marina is so thick we couldn't get the boat out if we wanted to, poor baby...

Penton Hook has been looking a bit chilly.

Don't think All Gold will be going anywhere for a day or two:-

Years ago ( 25+ ) my parents used to have a boat in PHM , we were on a single pontoon all on our own by the bottom of pier 1A .

I once walked out to the gravel heap on the ice ! Stupid looking back on it , but you do things like that when you are young ...

It had been cold for weeks though to be fair and the ice was very thick , and i wasn't the fat boy that i am now ... ;)

Decided it would be a good idea to visit Naughty-Cal this weekend to find out how she had faired upto the weather.

Suprisingly there was little to see. The sum total came to a cracked shower head (our fault for forgetting to drain it) and a slight split in the shower hose. The shower head we picked up from the boat show yesterday and the hose we will have a look at next weekend.

It must have got real cold real quick as the heaters just couldnt keep the temperature above freezing. Still no great loss assuming we can access the shower hose fairly easily.

Checked on the engine and that seems in fine fettle (as always), starting very easily and running smoothly with little smoke.

We appear to have survived the cold snap fairly well, some of our neighbours not so well with ripped canopies, wet interiors and water leaks galore.

Oh the joys of boat ownership.
