Has anybody a diagram of the stern seal for the Snapdragon 747 with an inboard engine?

There are two coach bolts (?) holding on a tube bracket to the vertical part of the hull.

The propeller shaft has a hard plastic tube surrounding it and protruding from within the outer part by about an inch (25mm).

I am told it is a cutlass bearing but have not found the rubber insert and am reluctant to take things apart before knowing what should be there. I was quoted GBP 600 for a replacement cutlass bearing, labour was extra, and I suspect an additional zero had slipped in.

Any help welcome. Many thanks in advance.

I assume this is the outside bearing. It could well have a composite bearing in it rather than a cutless. Having 25mm protruding is unusual, but it may be that the housing is not long enough to take a standard length bearing (normally 4* shaft diameter, so 4"). Best to unscrew the housing to find out what it is if it needs replacing. Take the 2 locking screws out and unscrew the housing. I will probably need a long lever like a pair of stilsons to get it moving. A specialist stern gear supplier will advise on replacements.
