Looks like I'll have to strip my 2kw hot air Planar down at the end of this sailing season. It's smoking a bit and staining the hull.
Confession time: I back flooded the exhaust with seawater in some rather bad weather crossing the North Channel last year. I drained it, but it's never been quite right since.
How best to clean the combustion chamber? Mechanical scraping, or is there a solvent for carbon build up? Would an ultrasonic bath work?
Any tips and advice welcome (other than stuff a bung in the exhaust when it's really rough, I now do that).
