Last year there was a thread about how to get rid of unpleasant odours. With the useless search engine I can't find it.

A forumite recommended a particular product intended to deal with pet odour which was said to be effective, can anyone point me to the original thread?

when iwas moored in milford haven i had a unpleasant smell the chap that was moored next to me was a butcher he said that he used raw onions cut in half to get rid of bad odours it worked

If you really want to remove smells you have to remove the source of the smell, not mask it.

The Simple Solution stuff contains enzymes and bacteria that actually break down organic molecules, thus removing the smell source.

I've posted and keep in the forward bilge, a spray bottle with pet deorderisor in it. It works for me, if theres a bit of a pong, just spray it round. Not sure it works for all smells, but it does round the holding tank. See a pet shop.

Agreed, but the odd smell has been there since we bought her, it is a bit diesel like, but may be old oil stains in bilge also? I just thought I would try something I had seen recommended here and hope it helps.

If its minging bilges that is the problem, use bilgex with hot water to scrub the bilges and let it slosh around for a while. It should get rid of the smell once and for all.
