I now require a small sink which could be built ino a "drawer" to slide out over the toilet. Does anyone know a supplyer with a range of ss or plastic ones.
Thanks for the advice on the small toilet - the jabsco is now fitted and fills the bill well

Hi

I've just made a s/steel sink from a s/steel food mixing bowl, cut a hole in the bottom and fitted a waste from B&Q. The waste fitting I bought was one with a reducer for a washing machine, it took the 38mm hole down to about 20mm ID. The bowl cost about £7 and the waste/reducer was about £4. To cut the hole I "chain drilled" some small (3mm) holes to form a large circle then cut it out with a metal blade in a jigsaw at a slow speed, put ear plugs in cos' it makes a lot of noise, then bedded the fitting down on mastic. The discharge goes out via a seacock below the water line that I keep shut when at sea or away from the boat.

Hope this helps

Dave

I recently replaced the old fibreglass sink in my heads compartment with a very compact one from Penguin Engineering. I bought it at the boat show and it was about £20. They have loads of different kinds and the staff are very helpful too.

My X99 had a small GRP slide out sink. It's a standard fitting on all of them. The X99 design is still made new today, and X-Yachts are pretty good on spares. Maybe worth a try if you want a purpose designed one, but may be expensive as a one-off spare.
