Hi I´m from argentina and i discover in my great grandfather possesions an small boat from 1950.
The manufacturer is PIONIER and the model DING 3800 (or 380D because it´s hard to read).
I have been looking all over internet for some more info but never find it. Can anyony help me?
It can be used with a small motor in the back or with a sail. The material is like a rubbered fabric.

I checked the website but did not seem that they made them, where did you got this information?
Thanks I will write to them. Its very old and my fahter remembers when he used this boat with a sail and then as a fishing boat with a sideboard motor.
Thanks for your help.

Hello 'Pionierboat' and welcome to the YBW forum.

At first I thought that the spelling of Pionier might be incorrect (Poineer) until I saw the other photographs you had posted on another sailing forum. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Looking at the name board picture, I can confirm what has been said on the other forum that the last letter is indeed a 'D' and not a zero and I wondered if the first number was a 'Nine' or a ''Three'. I searched for both. Also, there might have been a further character after the word 'Ding' (Dingi)?

I used a more technical search engine (IXQUICK) than Google and came up with the following which refer to the small Pionier boat as a 'folding' and 'amateur build' type of boat which suggest a kit build boat?

I also thought, had a feeling, that there might be a German or Dutch connection as these boats just might have been built for the German soldiers during World War II of as a company project to get the economy going in the late 1940's?

Try these web links and see if any of these might point you in the right direction. The first link certainly refers to a small kit self-build Pionier canvas and wood. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The second link, above might have been a development of the Pionier Company after it had progressed from Canvas a wood built boats?

Good luck /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

dear lenseman thanks a lot for all the info. I´m looking over it and you are right, my father heard from his grandfather that this boat was build for de german army in the world war II due to the fatc that was easy to assembly and transport.
Thanks a lot.
