Small American yachts

There seem to be nice selection of proper yachts like the Dana24 and even going as small as 22feer not including the bowsprit etc.considering many ofthe original type of boat was from the UK like the Quay punts or pilot cutters.Theyfeature nice wide side decks lotsof reefable sail and workable interiors with standing headroom,the designer not being concerned with sleek styling.Or course it looks like the designs are probably a good 40 years old

Another Catalina 34 here.
Spacious interior from cedar wood was the big attraction for me.

When the Yanks get down to it, their engineering and workmanship is quite hard to beat.

Francis 26. Chuck Paine designed it as his ideal small yacht. Or Victoria 30, the bigger version. Made as Morris or Leigh in the US.
