Our five year old 3D Tender UL 250 'disappeared' from our mooring , if it fails to turn up in the next few days we will unfortunately be looking for a replacement and welcome any feedback on other similar models. We are absolutely not interested in an airdeck/inflatable v-keel option.
Positives for the UL250 - super light at 24kg, very stable with 42cm tubes, good stability, safe and secure in choppy waters. Not so good : after a couple of years we started to get bubbling/corrosion under the paint/coating in a few places INSIDE the boat.
Length: 2.5 -> 2.7m
Aluminium hull
Weight: <40kg (lighter the better, so PVC not hypalon. We need to trolley it up a shoreline that can be quite pebbly/stoney/steep at low tide)
Budget: £2200 absolute maximum
A quick search so far turns up these models, tho not all fit our budget/weight..
(PS Don't ask about insurance, it seems when we took out a new policy for our new-to-us boat, we completely missed the 'dinghy tick-box', fortunately there was no outboard on it - argh!!)
