Slow speed on a cat under power into headwind

From research it seems that many people have just a single Yamaha 9.9 high thrust with Cats bigger and heavier than mine.......must admit still a little anxious as I'm reducing my current 30hp set up substantially.

In my experience on a 27' cat a single 9.9hp high thrust emgine will push it along at about 5kts.

No.
My 32ft cat originally came with a 28HP 2 stroke ultra longshaft Yammy. I soon replaced it with a single 9.9HP 4 stroke Hi-thrust Yammy.
The 9.9 pushed faster, harder, quieter.
