Slipways are undoubtedly kinder to elderley wooden hulls than lifting in a boat hoist. In the Solent area the slipways I know of are

Clarence Yard in Cowes.
Elephant in Busledon.
Odessa Yard in Newport.
Harold Hayles in Yarmouth.

Surely there must be others and a list hereabouts would be of use?

Dyer Brothers Marine Cobden Bridge , River Itchen Southampton
Can pull up to around 5 tons on wheeled trolleys.

Marchwood Slipways at Cracknore Hard have two Slipways for commercial vessels.

If you include Chichester harbour in the Solent area the Birdham Pool has that wonderful trolley arrangement complete with turntable and multiple tracked exits [bit like an engine shed]

Hi I'm afraid the slip has gone at Birdham pool, big crane in the far corner where the old crane was, saw it had all changed when I went to the Classic yacht weekend last year, I believe its on again this year, good day out.
