Hi all, we are experiencing slipperiness on our 2005 Beneteau 317. In the cockpit, on the side decks and the foredeck. I thought at first that it was my 8 year old boots, but now others are noticing it too. We really don't need a MOB situation.
We are thinking that a good scrub/pressurewash might help.
Has anyone else experienced this, recommend a good cleaner?

Caravan cleaner is good and much cheaper than any ‘marine’ product.

Incidentally, and excuse my pedantry, ‘topsides’ is the part of the hull between the waterline and the gunwales. Anything above that is deck or superstructure, usually coachroof on a yacht. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

Thanks Ken, I do hope that your chest is better now.
Do you have any particular cleaner which has served you well?
Regards Dave

I would be concerned about the source of the slipperiness.

Any sprays used on luff slides or foils ? Easy to be transferred round the boat by bootsoles.

What is the actual surface? GRP or teak or what?

So deck rather than "topsides"

Slippery teak could be slime? Rafted up to a boat with slippery green decks and mate James ended up with his feet above his head and on his arse before he could take a breath!

GRP then not sure? Mine is GRP and it is slippery with socks on, even with the anti slip moulding but that's obvious.
