<sigh> this rather fab machine is for sale for a measily 1.9 million USD. I bet even a nerk like me could sail this quite fast, plus get massive handicap in alcohol-fuelled med racing on account of being a nerk and having crap family crew.

Looks okay, but would you be able to get it through Havengore and over the Ray Sand? I'd have worries about taking it into Brightlingsea on a Bank Holiday Weekend.

Wally yacht....

......and so are the sort of people who can afford to sail in her.

OK, so I am a little jealous.

Don\'t be rediculous......

.. If they were THAT stupid or such "Nerks" how did they get enough money together in the first place to buy it?

Money can't buy you happiness but it makes misery much more endurable!

There is no such thing as the "REAL WORLD" only "The World"

Sadly in this country we despise anyone who is sucessful unless of course they sing in a girly band and/or marry a footballer.

Absolute necessity! Especially in the caribean! Boo Hoo!

To be honest, I don't really like it, would rather have something more classic lines, above the water, with go faster bits below the waterline, like those "truly Classic" yachts from holland, like a fife, but new materials and all the bells and whistles, but look fabulous! Now that I would have 2" cut off my willie for!

Au contraire...

I have absolutely no time for footballers or their wives or like persons.

On the other hand, I do admire self made people - but sadly they rarely have the time or inclination to buy a yacht like this. When they do, they also buy a staff of wallies to drive it for them - sadly when I was young enough I was not wally enough to be one of them.

As I said, not a little jealous.....

But that would turn you into a Jimmie, wouldn't it? /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: Not so!

Wally yachts (as I understand) have a race series designed around the fact that the owner helms. The entire crew is handicaopped, so altho some could afford to pack the decks with race experts, the nerks crew could win.

What's a Jimmie? These sailing terms are really confusing ;) Any way I thought it would make him a 'Justin' wouldn't it?

Re: \"rediculous\"

Sorry meant to remove that word but my client arrived before I had time to do an edit.

It saddens me that a Victoria Beckham concert attracts a ticket price of £25.50 to witness the output of one performer of questionable talent - the Spice Girls as a group however I always found to be fun - but the same price is charged for a symphony concert where hundreds of performers each with a mortgage must be remunerated. Same inequality also applies to a solo shaggy folk singer of course or even to Charles Aznavour one of who's concerts I atttended several decades ago when he litterally walked off the street 40minutes late and gave a concert in his mac ( taxi broke down apparently)

Law and order is another scenario of financial ineqwuality. If i get libelled by this magazine i don't have the resources to employ barristers like Mrs Blair at ca £250,000pa to plead my case. Yet people like the late Robert Maxwell kept the media (that which he didn't own) in constant fear of litigation if they even as much hinted at any wrong doing on his part. I understand that Murdoch views things in a similar light.

When my ancestors decided to stop settling their disputes with their fellow citizens by the use of violence and adopted Magno Carta I thought that we were supposed to get "Justice and equaslity for all"

It would appear that this is only true if you've the money to pay for it. Somehow the lore of the streets in the East End (You hit me and I'll bloody kill yer!) doesn't seem so unreasonable after all!
