Do people still use these? Would a M1 model be a good one to start with. Mainly to watch and control a sky box in the UK.

David of Mersea had one, so may still have one.
I used one successfully in 2006/7. Needs a lot of reliable upload bandwidth at the UK end.

I have one which seems to work fine in the UK. Mine is connected to my BTVision box.
Bought to enable us to watch Rugby world cup whilst away in Greece (Not a big Rugby nation so TV coverage poor !)
Not really successful because although it seems to work fine in the UK but I have had problems connecting from abroad.
Ive also tried the dodgy streaming sites with only limited success.
Will be trying again in a few weeks when Americas Cup is on
