Those of you with very long memories will recall that, a couple of years ago, I posted on here because I had been charged for about 30 hours' labour to service an outdrive. Fortified with lots of good advice, I wrote back to the yard, querying the bill and witholding most of the payment.
Every time I've gone into the office since then, they've said words to the effect of "we must sort that bill out, mustn't we"? In the meantime, the boat's been out of the water for another winter and I've settled several further (perfectly reasonable) bills.
Finally, yesterday, I got a letter conceding that they must have got the time sheets wrong and that they were adjusting the bill accordingly: this may have been prompted by the fact that the boat comes out - again - in a couple of weeks' time for the winter.
It's no skin off my nose, but I am thinking of writing to the Guinness Book of Records.
Of course, I spent the money I'd put aside for settling the bill, yonks ago. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
