Looking for detailed information on the dimensions for Sidepower stern thruster external type. Spoken to one firm who fit them but had no idea of the dimensions or how much if any, of the motor section can be above the water line. Thanks

I believe the answer to your "if any" point is none.
Aside from the type linked by Moonbeam, thrusters are designed to keep the motor inside the boat, and for excellent reasons.

This is messy- you have created two threads.

Sleipner publish drawings including cad files for all their products on their website. You’re not telling us which particular thruster your care about, and they have over 20 models of external motor stern thrusters.

This link shows their drawing of just one model that I picked at random

Every day is a school day, I never came across a thruster like that. Did you actually ever see one installed in a boat?
I struggle to think of a good reason for not leaving only the tunnel and the props permanently submerged in salt water...

Retrofitted, surely?
If not, I'd be curious to hear what the boat is, because it strikes me of a corner cutting choice, if OEM.
If it's still out on the hard I'll have a close look and take a few photos...it certainly looks like an "add on" but it's not a very large boat, also looks new, so maybe doesn't have internal space.

That's sorted then. I couldn't see that anywhere. Just what I needed. Many thanks 👍

Thanks but no. Thats the yacht version. Hopefully the transom mount version with the motor mounted over the props will come to light.
OK... I have seen those EX95 external pods fitted as stern thrusters to a couple of displacement power boats where the transom was too shallow to accommodate the standard tube stern thruster.
