(I meant to put this on scuttlebutt...but it is here now - sorry]
I am not sure what to make of this.
I got an email offering content for my blog from these people
http://thesunovertheyardarm.com/
they are going to post a video every week
judging by the first film it will be a slick production and I am really looking forward to seeing how they get on - both from a sailing point of viewe and to see the production values they have brought to the first film applied to sailing.
they are a lovely looking couple - much easier on the eye than this grizzled old double chinned hack
I have to say though that if they want to appeal to sailors - maybe a few shots of some boats would be good to see
Dear Mr Winter,
My name is Claire Giulini. I live in Brooklyn NY and I write a blog about
learning to sail called "Sun Over the Yardarm." This summer my husband and
I have partnered with Offshore Sailing School and have dedicated ourselves
to learning as much as possible about sailing. We will document the
process of going from zero sailing skills to coastal passage making in
just a few months.
We create our own content and believe there is an intersection between
your readers and ours as many of them like to read more about your sailing
adventures.
We are dedicated to both informing and entertaining our readers with
photos, videos, articles and giveaways. It would be great to know if our
blog is something that you’d be interested in and would like to share with
your readers. Full details of the project, giveaways, and special articles
will be appearing on our Facebook page. We can also provide you with
article details in advance.
I read your blog often and appreciate your efforts to record yourself
while sailing. I also really liked the videos.
Please be in touch and let us know what you think of our blog. Perhaps we
could create some content together that would appeal to both our
audiences.
Best,
Claire

I am thinking of inviting them over to the UK to spend a month sailing with me on the slug as I explore the Humber - should make good copy I reckon
