Skippering for the first time this W/E - advice, anyone?

Just one which seems to have been missed. If you tell one crew-member to do something, fill them in on what the other crew-members will be doing. I have had a crew divert himself (from going fwd to hold the bow on the pontoon) so as to take up the mid-ships spring, so making it impossible for the other crew to attend to that!

Will be experiencing the same thing very soon. all i can say is that it has to be fun, otherwise you would not want to do it.....right !.

i have been single handedly ( is that right? ) sailing my friends 26 foot atalanta. and i have to say that even with him aboard its nerve racking, however i would not have missed it for enything, i will soon be out on my own 20 footer, ............all alone......eeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

have a great day and enjoy, take note of all the things your experienced crew will tell you but , Your The Boss.

Just keep an eye on the depths over Ryde Sands, especially if you a traversing South of the forts. From Chi to Wooton I would go between them.
