SWMBO has asked me the question about how much roughly it would cost to get a 50' and 54' Princess skippered up from Plymouth to Southampton, so appreciate a ball park price or recommendations who she could contact to get a price. Thanks! :)

Ballpark, £250/day plus his/her return train/taxi. If weather is ok this should be a 1-dayer
(Edit - This post is timewarped)

I know this doent show th costs but the following link is a report on the delivery of our Princess 67 from Plymouth to Southampton - using a delivery skipper. SWMBO and I went along with them - the boat wasnt ours at that stage. The delivery charge was all wrapped up in the price of the boat so I dont know how much is cost but I believe that jfm is correct in his costs.

We had a bit of a misshap on route but it was still easily done in the day.

Princess employed a skipper and a crew although I think that its more normal for a delivery of this type to be done single handed.

Not 100% sure but believe when mine made the trip in Feb two guys did the honours.

It's possible that the boat's insurance co will insist that the skipper must have a crew as a helper as happened when I had my boat delivered from Majorca to Sardinia recently. I paid £350 per day for skipper + crew + all expenses, of course

My Insurance Co insists, well maybe not 'insists' but states that 'adequate' crew is in place.

Bit vague I think.
But it will be up to the Skipper to make sure that He has this area covered.

I shifted a boat for a friend and forum member recently.
OK , it was a carton of fags job for the priveledge.

But heck, Sh%t happens
I had a more than competent Crew with me.
Well it was a 'commercial' job in a kind of way!

I think a vessel of 30 ft plus needs two peeps to deliver properly anyway.
Cos then.
The 'Skipper' can retire to the Bar when She is berthed.
Whilst crew, 'mint' the boat!
