I've recently inherited a small yacht and went to do a "Comp Crew" course to get some experience. I need to move the boat from Amble to Sunderland - is it possible to hire a skipper to help with the journey? Any recommendations from that neck of the woods?

However, the season is drawing to a close (and the tides/winds always seem against me!) and its only 19' - is there anyone who could transport it by road? (It seems like even more hassle - I imagine I'd have to take the mast down, etc.).

Forget hiring a skipper, I'm sure there are a few people round here who would be glad to help you sail her the short distance involved. What type is she, what condition is she in? Regards, Mike. (Hartlepool)

Its a 19' Buchanan Wild Duck. She hasn't sailed for a year but was moved from the marina to the river earlier this year. There's quite a bit of fouling on the hull, which I hope to get up and brush off this weekend (and have a good poke around now I know what I'm looking at!).
