any snags to this plan?

You can easily sail close to the windfarm on the landward side Dylan. We've also sailed (driven) straight through the middle, but with all of the recent work going on there, there may be a temporary exclusion zone.

Do be aware that there is a lot of fast windcat traffic in the area, the cats live at Sutton Bridge.

Can't offer any advice past Skegness as we have not been that way yet. Looks pretty straight forward on the charts though.

This trip of yours evokes memories of my childhood - the Late and Never Early train from Nottingham to Skeggie on a grey summer's Sunday for a day out. Rush from the train station to the dunes to find a sheltered spot out of the wind to wait out the six hours before they would let you return home! And the trip to spend an equally grey summer's day at Cleethorpes to see my brother including a visit to Cleethorpes zoo where we were enticed to sit in the corner of a field to watch 'Cleethorpes' Famous Performing Parrots' (you have to say it in the local accent to fuse the greyness of the day and the biting wind to get some idea of the lack of 'sparkle'). But the parrots were really great.

Navigation - haven't got a clue. Promised myself I would never venture that far north on a boat. Blimey, I still shudder at the though of Skeggie - or was that the girl friend of the time. Wonder where she is now?

ah Roger - same memories almost but from Leciester we went to Mablethorpe! originally on the coach and then by the elderly Bedford converted van. I remember the wind that was always blowing - maybe now I'd welcome it if I was sailing!

and there was always Ingoldmells for the posher holidaymaker.....

Wow, you lot had luxury hols. My dads idea of a day out was either Snettisham collecting cockles or on the marshes gathering samphire.

Blimey, this is spooky. We used to go from Loughborough to Mablethorpe when I was a kid in the 60's. My aunt and uncle had a B&B there.

We were posh though, me dad used to drive us there.
