I need to paint Avocet's cove stripe, now that the 2-pack has hardened. I was just going to brush it on, as it's not a big area. I know I can put single pack over 2-pack, but do I need a primer or undercoat? Is it sufficient to just rough-up the 2-pack and slap it on?

I'd go with a light rub down and brush it on, the paint is probably fresh enough for the new coat to key well and there will be no contamination yet. I did my cove line with acylic paint by brush (how else does anyone paint the finial design?) and it took three coats of white on a light blue background. I could have used a primer just to get a white ground , but that would have cost another can of paint! You'd probably only need a primer coat if you're trying to get dense colour over a dark blue or similar.

Rob.
