Not a lot of detail - how often he looked out ahead etc. Anyone aware of any more details?

No details sorry. Sounds like he was day fishing and careless, I have probably taken similar risks myself to be honest, albeit desperate for a little kip, rather than going about my daily business.
I have cat-napped on autopilot crossing the N Sea, no idea how long for? ..and dozed off near the N Foreland, for 2/3 of a tide, and miraculously went around the Goodies and not on to them...
Why didn't the other FV get out of his way?
