Over the last few years the the clause relating to Single Handed sailing has changed slightly.

2004 - During Daylight Hours only.
2005/6 Cant find policy.
2007 & 2008 - Within Local Waters & During Daylight Hours only.

2009 - During Daylight Hours & within Coastal waters only, subject to YOU (in bold & capitals) wearing a personal floatation device at all times when on board.

Two things spring to mind.
1. Who else would be wearing the pfd if not the SH sailor?
2. Is the ' at all times when on-board' just to give the insurance company extra wriggle room in case of a claim?

Any accident is unlikely to have any bearing on the wearing of a pfd.

I wear a Life Jacket with harness built in (more used for of the harness), but don't always wear it.

Anyone else noticed any needless policy changes?

In GJW's defence I have found them to be very reasonable in relation to cover for single-handing. This doesn't address your concern of things getting apparently tighter, but I wouldn't have thought their changes to be too unreasonable. When I asked bout single handing, the only change t the policy was that the excess would eb doubled in the event of a claim, otherwise no changes, and no limit to the length of an individual passage which I thought was both interesting and very generous.
