I do have friends, honest, but sometimes either they're not available when I am or frankly I just enjoy the peace and quiet of sailing solo. Does anyone know of a (preferably) south-coast based charterer who i) has a boat set up for short-handing (ie an autopilot, lazyjacks, etc) and ii) doesn't mind someone taking it out on their own. Not talking about crossing the Atlantic here, just pottering about in the Solent for a day or two when the weather looks nice and I can skive off work at short notice... Thanks in advance.

Can't say for certain, but I think you will find that charter insurance requires a minimum of 2 crew and at least one must have a minimum qualification (Day skipper or ICC)
