Hi
I have to replace the toothed band that drives my steering wheel. This thoothed band glides over or grips a smooth inner hard plastic circular band.
When I opened the case the plastic inner band (which is not a closed circle but has a break) was loose from the casing.
My question is: should that inner band be glued to the casing?
(I can think of a scenario that when the clutch is tightened, it tightens this inner band also and so much that it cannot move?
Anyone there with experience who can help me with this old but, up till now, perfect pilot?
