I am possibly looking at buying a Simrad IS12 Wind System but am having a great problem finding out if it is nmea. It appears to use a simrad propriety data bus, like navbus or sea talk, but no mention of nmea.

Is this correct, as otherwise it looks like a fab bit of kit.

looks like it uses Simnet to talk to everything in the IS12 system, except the IS12 Data repeater and the IS12 Mega repeater, both of which have an NMEA0183 output.

That is what I thought, but I can only find adverts rather than a spec sheet or manual. I was hoping that someone on here may be using one, the fact I have only had one response worries me as to why more people are not fitting this kit; In everything else it ticks all the boxes.

Does anyone know if I can convert the simtalk to nmea ?
