We have a strange problem with pur wheel pilot it seems to work ok when on standby the motor works fine and the systems also seem ok. But on auto it just loses the course tried varying all settings and calibrating compass which didn't work despite me driving in circles for an hour! Any one have simlar experience or suggested solutions apart from the obvious and expensive option of replacement.

It sounds as though your flux gate compas is faulty, or more likely there is a faulty conection, so check those first.

A known and regular fault due to shoddy construction is the clutch/drive belt slipping under load. If you take it apart there are stainless self tappers that eat through a nylon fitting.
