Anyone know why it decided to lock up then blow the 10 amp fuse?
Replaced the fuse and tried it again
It just sort of judders and gets hot
Where would I send it for repair if I can't do it
All advice welcome

I need to make it clear that I had no option but to repair a TP 30 myself (at sea) I suppose if you can get it to a proper repair place, then that's the answer...but..

It is possible to carefully separate the top of the body from the bottom. The seam is only glued. Having done so I found the little plastic cog which runs along the 'worm drive' type shaft inside had run hard up against one end of the shaft and seemed to be stuck there. I physically wound the cog back down the shaft to the mid way point, assuming that this would allow it to deploy port or starboard when I turned thing on again.

I put the lid back on and tried it and it operated as normal, the fuse remained intact. I then stuck the two halves of the case back together with some adhesive which I originally had for repairing an inflatable dinghy. I didn't think it a good idea to use glue that would harden..just in case I had to prize the thing apart again. Why the cog ran to the end I've no idea but the symptoms on mine were exactly as you describe.

If you don't want to DIY, Simrad are part of the Navico Group based at Romsey, Premier Way IIRC. They don't have a receptionist at their office just a phone, get when you know the department and someone answers, not when you just have a name and they don't!
