I have just bought a Simrad TP10 tillerpilot on ebay. However it doesn't come with the connecting dowels that go into the tiller and cockpit.

Does anyone know the best place to buy Simrad accessories?

I had the same problem a few boats ago. I had the TP but no fittings.

I made the tiller pin out of a piece of stainless rod filed to shape. (If no rod to hand then you should be able to find a suitable screw or bolt to chop down.

The post socket that you set into the deck can also be made from a piece of tubing, or drilled out solid.

Of course, if you need brackets to raise of lower the fitting points then you may have to bite the bullet and buy the proper kit as, IMHO, the effort needed to make decent looking components isn't worth the savings.
