I have a new Simard RS35, In the specification it mentions that it has Dual Watch capability, and in the Manual it goes through the various icons that may be displayed, including DW for Dual watch. However Absolutely Nowhere can I find any reference on how to select this function.

On the Standard Horizon radios I am familiar with there is a DW button, you set a Channel e.g. 71 and then press DW and it monitors 71 and 16.

Does anyone know how to do this on the Simrad??

Hoping someone knows the answer. TIA.

It doesn't seem to be in the manual, and the manuals for the Lowrance Link8 and B&G V50 are identical, so why not email Simrad and ask them?

Had a further "play" with it today. I seem to have found the answer. If a working Channel is selected e.g. 71, and you then press SCAN the Dual Watch symbol appears and the Channel No. flickers, so I assume that is watching 71 and 16.
I will try few more permutations when next aboard.
I did send Simrad a query but. not yet had a reply.

I have this radio too and had the same dilemma as you. Nothing in the user instructions but, like you, i found that by pressing scan once it monitors the channel you are on plus 16. Or if you save two or three favorite channels and then press 3CH and then scan, it will scan these channels plus 16.

However, i don't think it works properly and there must be a fault in the software. When you are on dual watch and the channel switches to a transmit on Ch16, it gets stuck on ch16 and wont then return or monitor the other channel you had selected, even though the display still indicates that it is on dual watch.

Do you have the same problem or is it just me?

I have not used the DW feature enough to notice. I found that it interfered too much with the channel I was really interested in. I tend to just monitor 71 until clear of the Harbour area and then switch to 16.
