Does anyone have a user guide for one of these?

I have tried the Simrad download area, but they have only the IS12, 15 & 20.

The Stowe site has no download area (but does seem to have some nice-looking display units called the GX, which apparently are 'plug & play' replacements for Dataline displays. Doesn't give cost, though)

I've got an operating sheet for the 3 Micro models, if it is of any use to you.

Alan Williams was the repair person before he died, and another company has taken over his stock and now does all repairs on Stowe/Simrad instruments.

If you do a search of this forum, you may be able to locate the thread with the new address - but don't hold your breath with the new search facility!

I also have the manual for the IS11 system but only on paper. If the one in PDF does not give you the info pls PM me and I can scan and email next week.

Thanks to all for the replies. It seems that there are quite a few Dataline systems still in use by people who see no point in binning a system that performs well, provided they have access to spares and tech support.

If I can put my ten penn'orth in the pot: Airmar make compatible transducers for both Depth and Speed. Being fed up with the column of water up the left armpit when pulling the paddlewheel log to clean it, I bought an Airmar ST800, which has a cleverly designed 'flapper valve' (it's also compatible with the Rymarine ST60, apparently). JG Technologies stock them. The hull fitting is 51mm dia, so use a 45mm wooden dowel instead of the pilot drill, to centralise the hole cutter.

Hope this tip is useful.

Hello dear Rooster,

I recently bought a Simrad IS15 masthead unit together with an IS11 wind display at ebay and now I'm trying to connect the two. Unfortunately the connections don't match and I don't have a manual or wiring diagram of the IS11. Could you please send me your IS11 manual to: heinz.potthoff@online.de ?

Thanks a lot in advance!

best regards

JanCux

Unfortunately, with all due respect, rudolph_hart is not correct. Airmar only make 200kHz depth transducers, not 205kHz required for Stowe. We do manufacture 205kHz transducers... handmade in the UK. Although the incorrect 200kHz transducer may work in very shallow depths, the performance is very unstable.

As for the speed, The Airmar sensor MAY work, (not tested), on some Dataline systems if you are prepared to change the hull housing, but will not work with Navigator or Micro systems. We also manufacture replacement sensors for speed that fit your existing hull housing directly.

Unfortunately the IS15 mast head unit will not work with any Stowe system, the signals are completely different. We have new Stowe mast head units in stock and can repair existing units.

The IS11 display will only work correctly with the latest IS11 or Dataline X systems. You can use the new Dataline GX display on ANY Dataline system. The Simrad IS12 displays can not be used on Dataline systems, as the output of the Dataline is not fully NMEA compatible unless our NMEA inteface is fitted... in which case an IS12 or any other NMEA display could be used!

Hello, my Robertson dataline windmeter is broken at the top of the mast and felt down.
Hè is now repaired, but only of 3 of the 6 wires the colours can be detected. Does someone has à manual to see how the 6 wires have to be connected at the top of the mast?

Does this help?
