I am experiencing a problem with my HS35 handheld (identical to the HS 50 ). I kept this always in the cradle for inductive charging the handheld. Suddenly I saw that the handheld battery went down and discovered that it is no longer refreshed when in the cradle. Bought a new cradle and still not charging which leads to the conclusion that it must be a problem with the inductive "Receiver" in the handheld.
Don't know how I can test if the handheld gets power . Hate to buy a new handheld

Anybody with an idea ?

Sorry, to pull this up again:
It also applies to the Brooks and Gatehouse VHF HS 50 / V 50 which is identical to the Simrad RS 35. I have found now several reports on the net where the inductive charging fails shortly after warranty runs out. Seems to be a systematic design fault due to inductive overheating.

Simrad recommends that the Handheld VHS MUST be stored in the cradle permanently.

The boatyard who had installed the VHF recommends to only charge it the night before you intend to use it.
