I have contacted Simrad but of course its the weekend, so in the chance that someone here has come across this....its a long shot but its a Saturday night and no other support is available

I have just purchased a GO7 XSE

In WiFi Client mode it will not connect to any Access Point that I have, I have three different models of Access Point, all separate and I have tried every one. I have tried the DHCP screen and it shows it thinks it is getting a bad DHCP response.

When I set the GO7 to WiFI Access Point mode my devices can connect to it ok but then cannot display anything using GoFree Link Application

On an Nexis 6 running Marshmallow I see the GO7 XSE listed but when I select it I get a blank screen and no pop up "Device" warning on the GO7

On an old Android tablet I see the GO7 XSE listed and can select it. I then get the "Device" pop-up appear on the G07 and can enable the device. It then gives me a black screen with a "power button" at the top on the tabler. The power button does seem to control the power on the GO7, no other screens are displayed.

On an IPHONE 6 the app connects and can see the G07. When it it selected it very briefly displays a black screen and then returns to the initial screen, no "Device" pop-up appears on the G07.

Version 1.00
Application 53.2.49
Platform 19.2-44-g526afed
Hardware 128MiB+3.9GB 512MiB G30_00_T7
Loader 7.0.337583.0

Thanks for that, I tried it but it did not work

I have tried looking with Wireshark within the limits of what it can see on a wireless system . I can see the GO7 XSE being given an IP address when its trying to access an Access Point. Despite being give an IP address it still shows itself as disconnect. It is sending out a stream of UDP packets so it looks like it is looking for something before it declares it is connected to WiFi.

:(

Well the Simrad ownership has not started well.

I have always used Standard Hoirzon because I have found their support to be exceptionally good. However with Simrad I might as well talk to myself. As above the WiFi will not connect to a selection of different Access Points I have and the App view facility does not work with a selection of smartphones that I have ranging from the latest iphone and Android offerings to some older devices.

I get the automatic emails stating that my problems are important to them and they will respond as soon as possible. I have not yet managed to call their support number as I actually work for a living.

:(

No, no luck.

I have tried the SIMRAD support line (keep getting answerphone, leave message, never ring back) and I have tried the Web Support form (no replies but they value my communication) and Facebook page (please use our support line or web form for technical support).

Support is complete rubbish.

However from using Google I see that this is a common issue and it is because the GoFree app does not support screen mirroring on phone based devices, only large format tablets, its a shame that the sales literature for the SIMRAD doesnt mention that it will not work on most devices.

I just got off the phone with Simrad support. They asked that I try a couple of things... first is to hard reset the unit by holding the power key for 30secs. Next was to uninstall the app and reinstall. Im 6hrs away from my unit, but will have to try it this weekend.

Not ready to sell it yet after two days of running the new transducer, wiring, drilling, etc.

I had already tried both the hard reset and the re-install app. I also installed the other "branded" versions of the same app (Lowrance and B&G). The B&G version came closer to working as it presented me with a "power off" button at the top of the screen that would indeed power off/on the Chartplotter.
