Simpson Lawrence Sprint 1500 12V windlass

I have a non-working Simpson Lawrence Sprint 1500 12V windlass. The motor and several cogs and a set of bearing are broken so it is looking to be an uneconomical repair. It is a rather rare product and unlikely to appear on eBay etc. so wondered if a different one might fit without making too much alterations to the deck.

Can anyone recommend anything I could look at or get the footprint from a manual to check?

Doubt you will get a direct replacement using the same bolt holes. All the windlass manufacturers have installation drawings on their websites.

We have an SL windlass also. SL went bust in the 1990s. SL's winches were manufactured by Lewmar, and we have had no problems getting pasts when we needed them 5 or 6 years ago.

I have a Sprint 1500 and have dismantled in many times - it's on its third motor and second set of main bearings and oil seals - but I do anchor a lot and so it gets quite hard use. SL Spares have provided parts each time, although the bearings are standard and so could be bought from more generic suppliers as well.
