I got the following info from another newsgroup. I hope it is of interest.

Simpson Lawrence was (until 2000) owned by an engineering company called
Clyde Marine PLC. They owned Whitlock Steering, Simpson Lawrence and since
late 1999 Lewmar amongst other companies. One of the other companies made the
Simpson Lawrence hardware and it was sold under that brand name. In 2000
Sowester bought Simpson Lawrence the distribution and continued to supply the
other companies through the Simpson Network. In Late 2001 Sowester Simpson
Lawrence went bankrupt. Clyde Marine PLC Still owning Simpson Engineering,
Lewmar and Whitlock decided to market them all under the Lewmar Brand (a
strong and internationally known name).
The parts you want should be available from Lewmar, They are currently being
supplied to the UK through Bainbridge International Try them at
Bainbridge International Ltd.

SL may be almost dead & gone -but a former employee has a business based on service & some parts. He's a complete gentleman - and knows his stuff.
Based in Glasgow.

I have no axe to grind other than he helped get an old windlass back to work- and impressed me in the process.

I can also vouch for this company. They very efficiently supplied seals for my SL 401 sea toilet.
