It seems that my log transducer from my Silva Star Sea Data unit has given up the ghost, so this morning I popped into a Marine Electonics place down in Poole to see about getting a replacement.

The guy kindly made a phone call, and wrote down the figure of £127:00p.

"How much??" says I....... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
"I've seen the whole unit (display, log and depth transducers and fittings) on sale for only a few quid more than that"

To be fair, he did seem a little shocked himself...... mentioning that a Raymarine part usually comes in at about £55:00p.

Bl**dy Hell!

Anyone got any suggestions?

shop for the complete unit and thus have a spare.

contact silva direct

invest in a proper logline and a sandtimer to be able to launch from the taffrail and pretend you are an old fashioned wooden sailing vessel.

take up golf

These are all suggestions - not necessarily good ones /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

That is crazy, I got the instrument, depth transducer and log transducer for £142, and in Sweden with VAT++, so something is a bit wrong there.

I can see it my local chandlers for £85, but you can probably do better than that.

Try buying online. A quick Google didn't turn up anything for the transducer alone, but maybe Marinestore might stock it, send them a mail, they are very helpful. Note that it is the same transducer as the Nexus NX2 range uses.
