Took the opportunity yesterday to buttonhole Silva at SBS. As soon as I described the strange behaviour of our S15 * they offered to replace it. They admitted that this fault had happened with a few sets and said that the new one had updated software. The update includes the option to switch off the Navtex alarm. Oh Joy. They also said not to send it back before mid October to make sure that I get the latest model back.
*(see my post "Baffled by DSC" in late July but basically it sent an acknowledgement to an urgency call which it isn't supposed to be able to do.)
