Sillette Sonic Legs - Any experience with bigger props?

Two mechanics now have advised that prop on my sillette leg on a Prout Snowgoose is too small and costing me speed at any given revs.

Its the standard prop that Sillette supplied and nothing bigger will fit under the cavitation plate on the leg. Has anyone experimented with cutting off the stock cavitation plate and fitting a bigger prop and a new higher plate? With hundreds of Prouts using these legs and several other brands too I figure someone must have tried it??

You may not be able to increase the dia but can you alter pitch
Dia is engine revs and pitch boat speed

Lancing Marine worked out a better prop pitch for my sonic leg. Easy to fit and works a lot better than the old one.
