Sikaflex is not silicon sealant, it`s polyurethane, it uses moisture to cure. Silicon, air dries and gives off acetic acid as it does so, which corrodes things. Use silicone in the home, it has no place aboard a boat. It is also agroscopic, which make sit absorb water, which also makes it useless aboard. Also sikaflex is very much stronger, as a bonding agent.

You could aslo use Grenville PU Flex which is a polyurethane sealent. About 6 quid a tube. Comes in grey, white and black. Not as much money as pukka sikaflex as its not aimed at the marine market.
