Hello All--

Is there an easy way to check if the sikaflex chaulking is failing on wooden decks?

And does anyone have an estimate for the time it takes to reseal them -- my boat is a 35 foot sailboat with a pretty standard cabinhouse.

Look at the seams, is there a gap between the planks and the sikaflex, will a blunt knife blade slide in easily? Be careful not to shove it in. The best way to get sikaflex out that I have found is with a Fein multi tool, they have the exact tool for it to do the job, how long will it take? havent got a clue.

On my own 34 footer it was about 10 days of hard labour - tough on the backs and knees. Depending on usage the new seams should last between 10 and 15 years.
