I am considering sticking a flexi, aluminium backed, solar panel to a non-slip,stipled gelcoat deck but may want to remove it after a year or so. I
have limited experience of sealants and the like. Would Sikaflex 291 be suitable for the job and would it be possible to remove all trace of it in the future?

It's reasonably easy to remove sikaflex from a smooth surface with a sharp blade, but I would say it's nigh-on impossible to remove from non-slip.

+1. Black Sikaflex 291 is still on the non-slip part of our deck after seven years, even though that which was on the smooth part was scraped clean years ago. Nothing seems to dissolve it, you can only remove it mechanically.

You could possibly try white Sika 291, and it might not show up so much if your deck is whiite anyway. But I am only guessing - have not done that myself.

Thanks for replies -that's sikaflex out then. Don't suppose there's anything with similar grab properties that can be dissolved with acetone or suchlike, is there?
