hi guys
many thanks for the replies. sorry yes we live on the boat currently in Italy, dont fancy putting it in fridge not enough room, er not allowed 'cos my wife wont let me' tried all the other suggestions the smaller tubes are a bit costly & cant get any over here. I'll contact manufacturers see what they come up with I'll then put another post up as might help others /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've had success by inserting a 2" stainless bolt the same diameter as the hole. Works best if you remove it avery now and then to remove any that's gone off. Had one tube for 6 months with that system.

Can't recall without looking if it's 291 or 292 and other compunds may be different.

My answer to sikaflex going off is not to use it except for underwater applications and where good adhesion is important.. IMHO polysulphide is far easier to work for bedding fittings etc. It is easier to scrape off excess after it has cured and it flows out of the tube whatever the temperature outside - even down to sub freezing!

There's also Butyl based Arbomast sealing compound. Eagle windows told me to use it although it's not supposed to be brilliant in UV light.
