Due to a lack of availability of TDS 440 at present I opted for some Sika 290DC PRO. Unlike the TDS product Sika strongly recommend using a primer (their 290DC primer, of course) for teak prior to caulking.

It's very expensive. Is this super special stuff?? I don't understand chemicals very well I'm afraid.

The Sika primer is very good stuff, and it works.

Are you sure you can't get TDS 440? The BoatPaint website says cartridges are expected in UK on 2 April.

According to Moody decking (solent) they are the uk importers and they don't currently have it. I haven't opened the 290dc so if I can source the TDS so much the better.
