Just getting ready to fit two new Foresti & Suardi port lights this weekend (cracking value from This Dutch online chandlery if anyone is interested) and I'm planning to bed the external counter-ring in 291, do a preliminary tighten, leave to set and then tighten fully. Now, when I do the 'first fix' the 291 will ooze up through the gap, I'll wipe it flat with a latex-gloved finger. But I don't want to have to clean smears of 291 from the case / counter ring. Will smearing surfaces with vaseline prevent the Sika from sticking? I've already dismissed the idea of using masking tape.

Baby wipe gets Sikaflex off. God knows what it does to babies' bottoms. (The baby wipe, that is, not the Sikaflex!)

Good site but my dutch ain't upto it, how do you manage or are you a Dutchman in disguise? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Just to revisit this, I tried the online translation of a description and got the following;

Nope - not a Netherlander though I did spend some formative time in A'dam when younger .. just enough to know what my 'winkelwagon' is /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was after these Foresti & Suardi portlights, but no UK online stockists. So I googled 'patrijspoorten' instead and found these guys - very obliging and happy to help. If you know what product you're after, some of their prices are very good indeed.

I agree whole heartedly some of the prices are excellent, I've emailed them to ask if they have an English Website or even a catalogue in English.
Speaking of A'Dam what an interesting place, well last time I was there any way. We used stop off on the way to Stavanger and sometimes we got stuck (Shame !) have spent many a pleasant afternoon and evening there. Ahh those be the memories, I suppose that I would not appreciate its charms if I went there tomorrow ! Still thanks for an excellent link. Mal
