Very enjoyable day at the Southampton Boat Show, only spoilt by the 'Dragons' manning the reception desks on the larger Manufactures stands, why do they have to be so intimidating , condescending and rude ? they must go to the same training schools as Doctors receptionists !!!

Do you know its the best SIBS Ive been to I actually have no complaints and no sarcastic comments to make. Albeit that i didnt bother to try to see the Princess, Sunseeker lot, I dont have much interest in them, but they usually do have high and mighty attitudes but then when the weather was bad they were letting people onto their stand to keep dry!

Everything else was great and particularly enjoy the smaller manufacturers. It did seem that manufacturers had some realistic priced boats on offer, it seems the cost for a family 4 berth, in relation to the other boats at the show, seem really reasonable.

As the weather was not good this last weekend there seemed to be so many less people about and getting onto boats was really easy, actually saw everything I wanted to.

excellent show and long may bad weather reign/rain so i can get onto to the boats OK

10+ hours a day for 10 days without a break in all weathers...

Given that apparently one or two or them are reputed to actually be human combined with the general feelings toward them seemingly held by a good proportion of the boaty public (as ably demonstated by members of this board every time there's a boat show) and I can't help but feel that they're actually amazingly tolerant!

;-D

Had a great day on Saturday. Agree totally that some of the sales people are not great in thier attitude - their job is to present a positive image of the company and product they are trying to sell and some are simply awful.

That said some are great. We visited a £1.1m Sunseeker Manhatten and felt very welcome. No off putting 'Viewing by Appointment' signs and a very friendly and approachable style. Hardy and Broom were great too (although we knew the Brooms staff as they sold us our boat at the begining of the season).

First time at Southampotn and I will certainly go again.
